In addition to the Primary Responsibilities listed below, the Utilities/Wastewater Technician is responsible for overseeing the waste water system on-site at the North Carolina plant. This is a full-time, hourly position, with twelve hour rotating shift, days and nights, on a 2-2-3 schedule located at our Ajinomoto Health and Nutrition North America location at 4020 Ajinomoto Drive, Raleigh, NC  27610.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, operate, adjust, perform duties as required on plant utilities and waste water systems in accordance with SOP’s, cGMP’s, and written instructions.  These duties directly affect plant goals for capacity and product quality

  • Safely perform operations and minor maintenance activities in an environment that contains a high number of hazardous elements (Pressurized chemical lines, boilers, etc.)

  • Responsible for monitoring the receipt of bulk chemicals, palletized material, and containers of liquid chemicals

  • Must be willing and able to enter confined spaces to perform cleaning and minor maintenance activities 

  • This position requires a high level of 5S activities

Position Requirements

  • Two years of utilities or wastewater treatment experience preferred

  • College coursework or Technical School training in electrical, mechanical, lab, or instrumentation fields preferred

  • Utilities troubleshooting skills required

  • This position requires 12 hour, rotating/swing shifts (days & nights) on a 2-2-3 schedule
